Wandering alone in the fairgrounds, ti'gra came across a Master she'd met in Venna several times, who'd shown her kindness and interest, and he asked what she was doing out, and if he could escort her back to Venna before someone made off with her. She climbed into his tarnbasket and they were off...
But when he helped her out of the basket, it was definitely not Venna. Instead, she found herself in a misty city hidden high atop the mountains...Treve. He let her fury run its course and informed her that there was no escape or rescue where he'd taken her, and that she was now his. He removed her former collar and replaced it with his own, informing her that it was for the best, and that her last Master was no longer part of her life.
At last, ti'gra's anger broke in the face of Kard'nal's unfailing kindness, and they settled into a fulfilling relationship. Unknown to ti'gra, when her Master had taken residence in Treve, he'd done so only to help the home grow, and there came a day when he felt he'd done his work for the home and wanted to journey to find a better place for he and his girl.
