Kard'nal established a company of mercenaries known as the Steel Talon mercenaries, with whom he and his treasured possession travelled while seeking out just the right home. There were several offers from various places that they settled in for a few days, but he travelled for some time before finally taking a contract to protect a peasant village, which became home.
