The peasant village of Tabuk Ford hired the Steel Talon Mercs, and so Kard'nal and ti'gra came to be residents there. It was a strange existence for ti'gra, being not quite a city, but not quite a camp, and she learned to care for it. The people were welcoming and accepting of all, and she'd fallen hopelessly in love with her Master by then.
Life was peaceful in the village, and uneventful, but it allowed the girl to merely focus on her owner. For the first time, she had nothing else to worry about. She wasn't the outcast and pariah of the home, but warmly accepted. She didn't have to spend her time training other slaves, but merely did her own share and tended to her Master. It was an idyllic period in her life...but fated to end too soon.
Kard'nal and a small group of his mercenaries took on a contract that led them far from the village, and into enough danger that he chose to leave his much loved slave behind. Day after day passed with no word, the mercenaries left to ward the village and the girl growing more anxious by the day. In the event of his death, he'd made arrangements for Ara Salvadore of the Stones of Turmus to receive ti'gra as her own, and to see to Freeing her, but Ara herself had disappeared. ti'gra was bereft, left alone and deserted with no word.
After a few hands of waiting with no word, the two mercenaries that had so often been her escort for travels without her Master decided to see his will done. They arranged for her Freedom, and ti'gra became Ti'graine, a woman no less lonely, but now truly with no place in the world.
